मशहूर गायक एसपी बालासुब्रमण्यम नहीं रहे। 74 साल की उम्र में उनका निधन हो गया है। कोरोना से एक लंबी जंग लड़ने के बाद चेन्नई के एमजीएम अस्पताल में उन्होंने शुक्रवार को आखिरी सांस ली। उनके पुत्र चरण ने उनके दुखद निधन की जानकारी दी। बताया कि शुक्रवार दोपहर 1.04 पर उन्होंने आखिरी सांस ली। एसपी बालासुब्रमण्यम 5 अगस्त को कोरोना पॉजिटिव पाए गए थे जिसके बाद वह एमजीएम अस्पताल में भर्ती हो गए थे।
उन्हें कोरोना के बेहद हल्के लक्षण थे लेकिन फिर भी उन्होंने कोई रिस्क न लेते हुए अस्पाताल में भर्ती होने का फैसला लिया था। गौरतलब है कि हिंदी, तमिल, तेलुगु, कन्नड़, मलयालम और तमाम दूसरी भाषाओं में सैकड़ों हिट गाने गा चुके बालासुब्रमण्यम की सेहत के लिए उनके प्रशंसक लगातार प्रार्थनाएं कि । एसपी बालासुब्रमण्यम का नाम सबसे ज्यादा फिल्मी गानों में आवाज देने के लिए गिनीज वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड्स में भी दर्ज है। उन्हें पद्म श्री (2001) और पद्म भूषण (2011) से भी नवाजा जा चुका।
