खुदाई में रत्न, नागमणि, सोने के सिक्के मिलने का झांसा देकर लोगों से लूट करने वाले आरोपी को स्पेशल टास्क फोर्स ने गिरफ्तार किया है। आरोपी से 185 नकली सिक्के मिले हैं, जिन्हें वह सोने का बताता था। एसटीएफ एसपी मनीष खत्री के मुताबिक, आरोपी का नाम छोटू उर्फ विजय हलवाई है। यह बैतूल के झिरियाडोह का रहने वाला है। इसका महाराष्ट्र, छत्तीसगढ़ और मप्र में धोखाधड़ी का रिकॉर्ड मिला है। नागमणि मिलने का बोलकर आरोपी ने महाराष्ट्र के कुछ लोगों को गांव बुलाकर लूट लिया था।
एक साल पहले भी गिरोह का एक आरोपी पकड़ा गया था इस गैंग के खिलाफ 22 अक्टूबर 2019 को यूनिट के अधिकारी एमए सैयद ने केस दर्ज किया था, जिसमें एक आरोपी रंजीत पारदी (सिवनी-मालवा) को पकड़ा गया था। इससे भी 110 नकली सिक्के मिले थे, जिन्हें ये लोग सोने का बताते थे। अभी पकड़ा गया आरोपी छोटू उर्फ विजय, रंजीत के गिरोह के लिए ही काम करता है। इनका एक साथी गुलाब फरार है। जब टीम ने रंजीत को पकड़ा तो गुलाब और छोटू उर्फ विजय भाग निकले थे। ये अपने गांव भी नहीं जा रहे थे। दोनों ने अलग-अलग स्थानों पर फरारी काटी।
