PSU Bank Privatisation: केंद्र सरकार ने बैंक ऑफ इंडिया समेत उन 4 सरकारी बैंकों को शॉर्टलिस्ट कर लिया है, जिनका प्राइवेटाइजेशन किया जाना है. इनमें अन्य 3 बैंक बैंक ऑफ महाराष्ट्र, इंडियन ओवरसीज बैंक और सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया शामिल हैं. न्यूज एजेंसी रॉयटर्स की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, सरकारी सूत्रों ने कहा कि इन 4 में 2 बैंकों का प्राइवेटाइजेशन अगले वित्त वर्ष यानी 2021-22 में हो सकता है. हालांकि, सरकार ने अभी प्राइवेट होने वाले बैंकों का नाम औपचारिक तौर पर सार्वजनिक नहीं किया है.

सरकार बैंकिंग सेक्टर में प्राइवेटाइजेशन के पहले चरण के तहत मिड साइज और छोटे बैंकों में हिस्सेदारी बेचने पर विचार कर रही है. आने वाले सालों में सरकार देश के बड़े बैंकों पर भी दांव लगा सकती है. सूत्रों ने यह भी बताया कि आने वाले सालों में बड़े बैंकों को भी बेचने की प्रक्रिया शुरू हो सकती है. हालांकि, स्टेट बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (SBI) में सरकार अपनी बड़ी हिस्सेदारी रखना जारी रखेगी, क्योंकि इसके जरिये देश के ग्रामीण इलाके में कई सरकारी योजनाएं चलाई जाती हैं.

बता दें कि सरकारी बैंकों के प्राइवेटाइजेशन के जरिए सरकार रेवेन्यू बढ़ाना चाहती है, जिससे उस फंड का इस्तेमाल सरकारी योजनाओं पर हो सके. सरकार बड़े लेवल पर प्राइवेटाइजेशन करने का प्लान बना रही है. फिलहाल बैंकिग सेक्टर में सरकार की बड़ी हिस्सेदारी है, जिसमें हजारों कर्मचारी काम करते हैं.
सरकार के लिए जोखिम भरा फैसला?
रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक सूत्रों ने जानकारी दी कि प्राइवेटाइजेशन की प्रक्रिया 5 से 6 महीने में शुरू होने की उम्मीद है. सरकारी बैंकों का प्राइवेटाइजेशन मोदी सरकार के लिए जोखिम भरा फैसला है, क्योंकि यह लोगों के रोजगार से जुड़ा मामला है. इससे काम करने वाले कर्मचारियों पर भी असर हो सकता है. बैंक प्राइवेटाइजेशन से लोगों की नौकरियां जाने का खतरा है, इस वजह से बैंक यूनियन इसका विरोध कर रहे हैं.
बैंक यूनियन सरकार के इस फैसले के खिलाफ सोमवार यानी आज से ही दो दिन की हड़ताल पर हैं. केंद्र सरकार को डर है कि कहीं इस मामले में भी किसान आंदोलन जैसा विरोध नहीं झेलना पड़े, इसलिए सरकार पहले मिड-साइज बैंकों का निजीकरण करेगी, जहां काम करने वाले लोगों की संख्या कम है.
किस बैंक में कितने कर्मचारी
बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (BOI) में 50,000 को करीब कर्मचारी काम करते हैं और सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया में काम करने वाले लोगों की संख्या 33,000 के करीब है. वहीं, इंडियन ओवरसीज बैंक में 26,000 और बैंक ऑफ महाराष्ट्र में 13,000 कर्मचारी काम करते हैं. इस वजह से उम्मीद है कि सरकार पहले बैंक ऑफ महाराष्ट्र के निजीकरण की प्रक्रिया शुरू कर सकती है, क्योंकि कर्मचारियों की संख्या कम होने से सरकार को कम विरोध झेलना पड़ेगा.
