उत्तर प्रदेश की अयोध्या नगरी भगवान राम के भव्य मंदिर निर्माण की शिला रखे जाने के साथ नए युग की शुरुआत करने को आतुर है तो वहीं बुंदेलखंड की अयोध्या ओरछा में भी खासी हलचल है। इस मौके पर रामराजा मंदिर की विशेष तौर पर साज-सज्जा की जाएगी। मान्यता है कि यहां राम भगवान के तौर पर नहीं बल्कि राजा के तौर पर विराजे हैं। बुंदेलखंड की अयोध्या ओरछा वह नगरी है जिसका अयोध्या से लगभग छह सौ साल पुराना नाता है। यहां राम भगवान नहीं बल्कि राजा के तौर पर विराजे हैं, यही कारण है कि चार बार होने वाली आरती के समय उन्हें पुलिस जवानों द्वारा सलामी दी जाती है। कहा तो यहां तक जाता है कि श्रद्धालु राम की प्रतिमा की आंख से आंख नहीं मिलाते बल्कि उनके चरणों के ही दर्शन करते हैं। प्रसाद के तौर पर भोग के साथ पान का बीड़ा, इत्र की बाती (इत्र से भीगी हुई रूई का फाहा) भी श्रद्धालुओं को दी जाती है।
उपलब्ध दस्तावेज बताते हैं कि ओरछा राजवंश के राजा मधुकर शाह कृष्ण भक्त थे और उनकी पत्नी कुंअर गणेश राम भक्त। दोनों में इसको लेकर तर्क-वितर्क जारी रहता था। मधुकर शाह ने रानी को वृंदावन जाने को कहा तो रानी ने अयोध्या जाने की बात कही। इस पर राजा ने व्यंग्य में कहा कि “अगर तुम्हारे राम सच में हैं तो उन्हें अयोध्या से ओरछा लेकर आओ।” कहा जाता है कि कुंअर गणेश ओरछा से अयोध्या गईं और 21 दिन तक उन्होंने तप किया, मगर राम जी प्रकट नहीं हुए तो उन्हें निराशा हुई और वह सरयू नदी में कूद गईं, तभी उनकी गोद में राम जी आ गए। कुंअर गणेश ने उनसे ओरछा चलने का आग्रह किया। इस पर भगवान राम ने उनके सामने तीन शर्त रखीं। ओरछा में राजा के तौर पर विराजित होंगे, जहां एक बार बैठ जाएंगे तो फिर वहां से उठेंगे नहीं और सिर्फ पुण्य नक्षत्र में पैदल चलकर ही ओरछा जाएंगे। रानी ने तीनों शर्तें मानीं। स्थानीय जानकार पंडित तिवारी बताते हैं कि कुंअर गणेश अपने आराध्य राम को लेकर जब अयोध्या से ओरछा पहुंची तब भव्य मंदिर का निर्माण चल रहा था, इस स्थिति में रानी ने राम जी को राजनिवास की रसोई में बैठा दिया, फिर वहां से राम जी अपनी शर्त के मुताबिक उठे नहीं। फिर रसोई को ही मंदिर में बदल दिया गया। यहा राजा राम के तौर पर हैं, यही कारण है कि कोई भी नेता, मंत्री या अधिकारी ओरछा की चाहरदीवारी क्षेत्र में जलती हुई बत्ती वाली गाड़ी से नहीं आते और उन्हें सलामी भी नहीं दी जाती है। यहां सिर्फ रामजी को ही सलामी दी जाती है। तिवारी बताते हैं कि राम ओरछा में राजा हैं, दिन में तो वह यहां रहते हैं लेकिन शयन करने के लिए अयोध्या जाते हैं। इसीलिए कहा जाता है कि “रामराजा सरकार के दो निवास है खास, दिवस ओरछा रहत है रैन अयोध्या वास।”
