आभूषण या ज्वैलरी पहनना हिंदू परंपरा का एक अहम हिस्सा है. शादी हो या फिर कोई दूसरा अवसर ज्वैलरी पहनने का अपना एक अलग ही महत्त्व होता है. दुल्हन की खूबसूरती में चार चांद लगाने और उसे संवारने का काम गहने ही करते हैं. शादीशुदा महिलाएं पैरों में बिछिया और पायल पहनती हैं. आमतौर पर महिलाएं सोने के गहने पहनना पसंद करती हैं लेकिन पैरों की पायल हो या बिछिया, हमेशा चांदी की ही पहनी जाती है क्या कारण है कि पैरौं में सोने के आभूषण नहीं पहनने चाहिए. -सोने के आभूषण शरीर को गर्म रखते हैं, जबकि चांदी शीतलता प्रदान करती है इसलिए चांदी के आभूषण शरीर को ठंडा रखने का काम करते हैं. इस प्रकार कमर के ऊपर सोना और कमर से नीचे चांदी पहनने से शरीर का तापमान संतुलित बना रहता है|
जिससे कई बीमारियों से छुटकारा मिलता है. -आभूषण पहनने से ऊर्जा सिर से पैरों की तरफ और पैरों से सिर की तरफ फ्लो होती है. वहीं अगर सिर और पांव दोनों में ही गोल्ड ज्वैलरी पहन ली जाए तो इससे शरीर में एक समान ऊर्जा का फ्लो होगा, इससे शरीर को नुकसान पहुंच सकता है और कई बीमारियां भी हो सकती हैं. -ज्योतिष शास्त्र की बात करें तो पांव और टांग का ज्वाइंट जिसमें पायल पहनी जाती है, केतु का स्थान होता है. अगर केतु में शीतलता नहीं हो तो वो हमेशा नकारात्मक सोच के साथ क्लेश वाली बात ही करेगा. इसलिए सहनशक्ति बढ़ाने के लिए चांदी की पायल पहनना सबसे ज्यादा जरूरी है. -धार्मिक मान्यतानुसार भगवान विष्णु को सोना अत्यंत प्रिय है क्योंकि सोना लक्ष्मी जी का स्वरूप होता है. इसीलिए सोने को शरीर के निचले हिस्सों में जैसे पैरों में पायल और बिछिया पहनना भगवान् विष्णु सहित समस्त देवताओं का अपमान होता है. -महिलाओं को यदि पैरों की हड्डियों में दर्द की समस्या है तो वो चांदी की पायल पहन सकती हैं क्योंकि पायल पैरों में रगड़कर हड्डियों और जोड़ों के दर्द में राहत दिलाती है. इससे शरीर में रक्त संचार अच्छी तरह से होता है जिसकी वजह से महिलाओं से जुड़ी कई समस्याओं में लाभ मिलता है. -मान्यता है कि चांदी की बिछिया पहनने से पीरियड्स नियमित रहते हैं. बिछिया पैरों में एक्यूप्रेशर का भी काम करती है. पायल में लगे घुंघरुओं की खनक घर में पॉजिटिव एनर्जी का संचार करती है.
